Diocesan Fund for the Care of Sick and Retired Priests During the time of the Covid Pandemic when it was difficult to have collections due to no Masses etc, the annual contribution to this fund was suspended. At the same time, the number of priests retiring each year continues to increase, resulting in the growing need to provide for the care and support of our sick and retired priests. Accordingly a second collection was taken up at all Masses this weekend 19th / 20th September as people left the church  . The proceeds of this collection will be used exclusively to support priests who have given many years of faithful service to the Diocese and who, in retirement or due to illness, now rely on the support of the Diocese.
