World mission Sunday

Published on October 8, 2026

World mission Sunday This year as we mark 100 years of World Mission Sunday, the Church gathers in a spirit of unity, prayer, and generosity. across continents, communities come together to celebrate a shared calling that transcends borders, languages, and cultures – a living expression of a Church united in Christ and sent forth in mission. Chosen by Pope Leo XIV, the theme for World Mission Sunday 2026 has been announced as ‘One in Christ, united in mission’. invites us to be rooted in unity with Christ and with one another, and calls us to walk together as sisters and brothers, bringing hope, compassion and the Good News to communities near and far. This unity calls us to see one another as sisters and brothers, working together to bring the Good News to life in every corner of the world. In a world often marked by division and isolation, mission invites us to build bridges of compassion, solidarity, and hope. As one body in Christ, we are called to journey together, to listen, to serve, and to share the love that transforms hearts and communities. Each act of faith and generosity strengthens our communion and reveals the face of Christ World Mission Sunday is celebrated next Sunday, 18th October. The Second Collection as people leave Mass will support all  missionary work. Please give what you can. We encourage no church gate collection next weekend .
