The Eucharist, the Mass, is at the very centre of our faith. “It is the source and summit of the Church”. Could you go to Mass more often to meet Jesus and to receive his blessings? Jesus gives himself to us in the Mass – he is really and truly present in the Blessed Sacrament. Holy Communion is not just a sign or a symbol of Jesus. Holy Communion is Jesus who comes to live in us. The only way our faith in his presence can grow, is by attending Mass and receiving Jesus in Holy Communion. If we don’t water a house plant it will shrivel up and die, likewise if we do not pray, our faith dies. Faith is our personal relationship with Jesus, which grows through our contact with Jesus. If your faith is getting weaker, examine your prayer life and your Mass attendance – these are vital for the life of our relationship with Jesus. A prayer we can all say, “O God, come to our aid; O Lord, make haste to help us”. Ps70:2
