October is The Month of the Holy Rosary and The Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary are said on Mondays and Saturdays 1.The Annunciation The Angel Gabriel announces the Incarnation to Mary 2.The Visitation: Mary visits her cousin Elizabeth 3, The Nativity: Jesus is born in Bethlehem 4.The Presentation in the Temple: Mary and Joseph present Jesus in the Temple 5.The Finding of Jesus in the Temple: Mary and Joseph find the 12-year-old Jesus discussing God’s laws in the Temple. In these Mysteries we see the humility of Mary and Joseph, and the humility of God who is willing to come on earth to be our Saviour. The rhythm of saying the Hail Mary’s helps to calm us down so that we can meditate on the events behind each mystery. Involving children in saying the Rosary gives them the good habit of calming down to talk to God and to experience His presence in their lives. It also helps to strengthen bonds in the family.
