New Saints In Rome Pope Leo XIV celebrates the first canonisation ceremony of his Pontificate when he declares Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati and Blessed Carlo Acutis, Saints! Pier Giorgio lived in Turin with his family who were very wealthy, yet he lived his young life with extraordinary faith, enthusiasm for sport and a zeal to humbly help the poor and sick around him. Pier Giorgio died one hundred years ago on 4th July 1925 aged 24! He is a Patron of Youth. Carlo Acutis is the first millennial saint! Born in London, Carlo died in
Monza, Italy on 12th October 2006 aged only 15! He too belonged to a very wealthy family. His parents were not religious but Carlo showed great interest in Jesus and the precious gift of the Eucharist! His young witness to the faith was evident to all who knew him at home, at school in the community. He used his computer skills to produce a website to promote the Eucharistic Miracles.
