Pioneer Total Abstinence Association 

We are planning to form again a Branch of the Pioneer Total Abstinence Association in our parish.  The aims of the Association are                                                                                                1. To encourage young people and adults to take the pledge to abstain from alcohol until 18 years ( and for longer if they wish ) and to abstain from drugs for life                                                     2. To promote temperate use of alcohol among all                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           3. To pray for individuals and families affected by addictions                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       4. To promote the pledge among all who have made their Confirmation recently and among those who are preparing for Confirmation.                                                                                                   5. To organize a Mass each year at which those wishing to enroll in the Pioneer Association can receive their Pioneer Pin and a  Certificate of Enrolment and a copy of a prayer they are encouraged to pray as often as possible.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             A meeting  for all interested in helping to re-establish the Pioneer Association in our parish will be held on Friday week 3rd May at 8pm in Mucklagh church         (After the 7.30pm Mass) The Support of parents , adults and young people will be appreciated in any way Statistics show that many young  people now go alcohol free and we hope the establishment of the above would be a support to them.
