Thank You From Fr Johnny

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who turned out to wish me well on Monday 6th October. The Mass and liturgy was most uplifting and impressed everyone present. Fr Martin and the Organising Committee worked hard to put it all together. The celebration was a wonderful witness of Parish Unity. Those who baked and catered were rewarded by the massive numbers who returned to the school gym afterwards. Our visitors are still talking about the event. It was all a very humbling experience for me. I express the same words of gratitude to all other groups in the parish who were so kind to me and for the good wishes expressed - Teachers and Pupils of our three schools, Mucklagh Developement Association, The Staff and Residents of Carthage Nursing Home, The Presentation Sisters, and all who gave me cards and gifts and had Masses offered.
Words of gratitude are insufficient to express my appreciation for your kindness & friendship. Thanks indeed to everyone. I wish Fr Martin and all parishioners of Rahan Parish every blessing for the future. Let us continue to walk together in spirit and in prayer working in the Lord’s Vineyard wherever that may be. Fr. Johnny.

Farewell to Fr Johnny McEvoy

Due to the many celebrations that were held in the parish over the last few weeks, farewelling Fr Johnny and as tribute to all who turned up and helped out in these celebrations, this weeks webpage is dedicated to all these wonderful people of Rahan, Mucklagh and the Island together with the teachers and pupils of the schools in the parish who attended and participated in these celebrations. Enjoy the slide shows and the video from the pupils and teachers of St Colman's N.S. Mucklagh. Fr Johnny left the parish on 17th Oct. 2014 - 3 years to the day that he had a narrow escape from that tree that fell on his car in Mucklagh

Mucklagh Church was crowded to overflowing on the night of the 6th Oct for the farewell Mass, where some 25 priests from all around concelebreted. It is good to note that there were 6 priests native of the parish present.
